* Each SECTION below is taught in 1 hour apart from CONSOLIDATION (Test & Correction). Each PART of the course lasts about 3.5 weeks (3 LESSONS per week and 2 hour per LESSON). Therefore, there is a large amount of homework, which requires students' self-study and great efforts.
|PART 1|
|SECTION 1. OVERVIEW|
* In this lesson, I'll be introducing students to the structure of an English test for the gifted. The sample test is taken from the official past papers in Ho Chi Minh City in 2012, which can be also used as a placement test. The structure of the test varies each year, depending on the test makers, though some types of question are always retained. Therefore, I've suggested some structures that may cover all possible types of question in the test. I will also use my own suggested structures to build practice tests. In my experience, they are quite effective and do help enhance students' level of English. Finally, I've provided some techniques to deal with some main types of question in the test, enclosing sample questions to apply them into practice.
* Note: In PRESENTATION files, you'll see some blanks are missing because I use them directly when teaching. Such blanks will be filled in by students, which will help them revise their knowledge easily and profoundly. I will not supply the answers to the Presentation, but I'm ready to answer any questions about them. Please feel free to ask.
